Homestudy

Ok well today I spoke with a lady from DHS and was able to acquire some info on my homestudy! She said that they do homestudies at a very minimal cost through the state if you are employed with the state.....this is perfect because Ethan is.

I was about to ( within a month) have to shell out nearly $1500.00 for a homestudy but after hearing this I am so excited. Also when I start my new job I am going to add legal insurance to my benefits for $30 or so a month and that will cover all my legal expenses. For any of you reading this that are adopting, you may look into this with your employer it can save THOUSANDS OF MOOLA. Especially since the end of the year is coming and you can re sign for insurance plans! Just a thought...

As for my day, I took Evan out of school today and we had a fun day. He even got TWO cookies ahhhh crazy huh :) we went to lunch, jump zone- to find out it was closed, and watched Shrek, got to color with paint (big deal for a 3 yr old) and even snuck a 2 hr. nap in! Evan is also staying home tomorrow to go eat lunch with his Mimi and Baba!

I hope I can say I have a completed homestudy within the next month!!

I almost forgot I finally got a hold of a organizer for our huge annual bike rally, and I think I got a booth to ask for donations at! This event is huge, bringing in nearly 600,000 extra people to the area. If anyone wants to help man the booth when I cant to help bring home an amazing little girl from Taiwan, call me we need every little bit of help.
Good night and hope to have great news on the next addition.
Good after noon Lilli bean!

p.S. I had to put this pic up of the critter, our 3 year old who want a yister for his birthday!!

Day 1.....officially anyways

Well today is the official start of our journey to Eva Jewel although it has been a journey for awhile now! We officially are on a waiting list for a little girl 2-4.5 from Taiwan....it gives me butterflies and goosebumps to even say that.
Hopefully in less than one year, little Eva will be coming home to her forever family! The next step is for me to get a job ;) then we have to get our home study completed and sent to Wide Horizons for children (our official agency as of today).

I told myself from the time I was 13 that I wanted to adopt, but now it feels closer then ever. I remember when I was 9 I begged and begged my mom to adopt a sister for me! Ethan is even excited he keeps asking to look at pictures of children that are available, even though we arent ready yet.
When I asked Evan what he wanted for his birthday (Nov. 10 he will be 3) he said " a bluuu bike and a yister" (sister) it was so funny I really have no clue where he got that from.
We have decided to save up enough to spend 10 days in Beijing then fly to Taiwan and stay another week... can we say ka ching ka ching...I just see $$$ in my head. I know it will be worth every penny the moment we see Eva's picture. It makes me sad to think she may be sitting alone right now wanting a mommy and daddy to cuddle with her. I imagine she is just getting done with school at this time and I wish I could be there to pick her up soon soon.
Well I better stop or I could write all night and it is already close to 4am. I will keep the updates coming as they arrive and hopefully I will have a new job soon!
Goodnight to all and good afternoon to Eva!
